Pride of Cork Awards 2022

In recognition of the enormous success to date of Saint George’s Arts and Heritage Centre, the project was presented with a Pride of Cork Award in front of a capacity audience gathered in the convention centre of the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs on Friday 11 March 2022. The recipients of A Pride of Cork Award were honoured for our outstanding contribution to Cork city and county by Cork Civic Life. The awards were presented by Prime Time anchor woman, Miriam O'Callaghan. The guest speaker was the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Defence Simon Coveney TD who spoke about the developments in Ukraine and on the importance of civic pride in our society.

A wonderful evening of food and entertainment and gifts were part of the celebration with recipients being presented with their Pride of Cork Award by the Chairman of the Judging Panel John Minihan. Included in the many worthy recipients and projects honoured by these awards were Cork Penny Dinners, The Irish Community Air Ambulance, Cork City Missing Persons Search and Recovery, RTE Late, Late Toy Show & Virtual Hug star Adam King & many others.

The awards were presented by RTE presenter Miriam O’Callaghan, C103’s Patricia Messenger and PJ Coogan of 96fm. The Board of Saint George’s was represented on the night by Chairman Bill Power, Treasurer Anne Morrisson and Secretary Andrew Dineen. While it was a night of glitz and glamour for the attendees the Board of Saint George’s recognises that the award belongs to all who have contributed to the transformation of Saint George’s.

Our two new 5.5 metre-long banners will be going up on the outside railings announcing our plans and how we need help to make our dream a reality.

Featuring local talent Eamonn Walsh and Belgian singer 'Little Kim'. Both stunning singers and performers.
